What Paintless Dent Repair Can and Cannot Fix

PDR is excellent for the right damage and the wrong choice for other damage. Here is how to tell which is which before you book anyone.

Good candidates

• Door dings and shallow round dents with intact paint
• Hail damage with intact paint
• Many creases and body-line dents, depending on the metal
• Larger dents where the metal has not stretched sharply

Limited or not suitable

• Cracked, chipped, flaking, or missing paint in the dent
• Very sharp folds and stretched metal
• Panel edges and heavily reinforced areas
• Dents where we cannot reach the back of the panel
• Panels with existing filler from an earlier repair

Steel vs. aluminum

PDR can work on both, but aluminum is stiffer and less forgiving, so some aluminum panels are more limited. Tell us your vehicle and send photos and we will let you know.

What to photograph

Take a photo straight on and one from an angle, in daylight or bright shade. Include a close-up of the edges, since cracked paint shows there. Send them with your year, make, and model through the quote form or text 540-339-7977.
